My Ideal Client

Most folks who come to work with me feel stressed, overwhelmed, or disconnected. I work with all bodies of every identity, but I’m especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ folks and any individuals who experience systemic trauma just by existing as who they are. I provide a safe container for people to slow down, listen to their bodies, attend to the feelings that arise, and make space for the true self to emerge.

My Background and Approach

As life happens, stress can get stuck in the body. Maybe that looks like chronic tension where the body is bracing for the next dangerous thing, or perhaps it looks like slouching in freeze mode and hiding parts of who you are. We all have old holding patterns that return when we’re overwhelmed with life. These patterns are intelligent survival mechanisms trying to protect us from future pain, but there comes a point when they get in the way of fully experiencing life. As a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in bodywork, I won’t help you analyze and interpret the past, but rather focus on how these old defenses show up in your body now. This work can help you build more capacity to process difficult experiences, improve systems of stress and trauma, and cultivate a sense of well-being in the body.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Trusting what our bodies are saying is not easy in this world, especially since so many of us are stuck in old survival patterns. My work is rooted in decolonization and anti-oppression. I work closely with the LGBTQIA+ community and am passionate about providing a safe space for all individuals who experience systemic trauma to simply be who they are. From there, we can practice cultivating a sense of safety, boundaries, and agency to be yourself. As tension rises in the world around us, it's a privilege to do this work. I’d be honored to support you in it.

  • Somatic Therapy (Body Centered) External link

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented healing modality based on the work of Dr. Peter Levine that strives to resolve symptoms of stress and trauma. By becoming more aware of the feelings in our bodies, we can align with the natural processes of the nervous system, work through old survival defenses, process difficult sensations, and gain more access to our vitality.
