My Ideal Client

My ideal clients are individuals who have experienced significant emotional or psychological distress, particularly those working in high-reliability and high-stress professions like law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, healthcare, and other high-risk professions. I also work with their family members. I work with people experiencing trauma, burnout, isolation, and compassion fatigue. I also work with couples, teens, and families.

My Background and Approach

I am an experienced front-line healthcare worker with over two decades of working in Emergency Medical Services. Now transitioned to the mental health setting, my clinical focus is based on a person-centered approach using psychodynamic and Internal Family Systems (including Parts Work) as a theoretical framework, viewing all clients though a truama-informed lens. Through trauma-focused and psychodynamic therapy, I can help clients explore the root causes of their trauma and how it shapes their current experiences, beliefs, and behaviors. IFS and person-centered therapy creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their emotions, rebuild their sense of self-worth, and begin the healing process at their own pace. As an EMDR trained clinician, I use this tool to help clients with trauma processing.

Why I Became a Therapist

I believe in creating a compassionate and understanding space for those who often face unspoken challenges. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, utilizing psychodynamic therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help individuals heal from trauma and stress. Having lived through a long career as a paramedic, I am passionate about supporting those who dedicate their lives to helping others, helping them build resilience and self-worth, have a fulfilling career, and showing up as the family member and loved one they desire to be, while navigating the unique emotional struggles they face in their demanding professions.
