My Ideal Client

I work with women—often BIPOC or bicultural—ready to bravely explore their inner world and move toward the life they envision. Many are at a crossroads, navigating breakups, parenting, past abuse, family dysfunction, or feeling lost as they care for everyone else. Together, we seek healing, clarity, and meaningful change through compassion and connection.

My Approach to Helping

It’s my passion to work with people who want to explore their past experiences, uncover what matters most, and find the strength and clarity to build the life they want. I've been honored to work with people navigating and recovering from domestic violence, past abuse, addiction of family members, poverty, and homelessness. Perhaps your path hasn’t included challenges like these. Life can still be hard! Painful experiences come in all shapes and sizes. I’m here for all of it. Together we can create a space where you feel heard and understood. As a therapist, I listen closely and highlight what feels most important, supporting you as you understand your story more fully. Because there’s no single approach that works for everyone, I tailor my support to you so that you can discover your unique path forward, toward the life you want to live.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a woman of color and a child of immigrants, I've sometimes struggled to find colleagues or therapists who understand my experience. I've worked with people who haven't honored or understand my experience, or, on the other hand, have brought too much focus onto my identity as a BIPOC woman and daughter of immigrants. It's important to me that I keep the door open for you to bring those identities into our work, at the level or intensity that you choose. Right now, the world can feel dangerous, uncertain, and full of injustice and pain. This can hit differently for those of us who are BIPOC, immigrants or children of immigrants, LGBTQIA, low-income, or otherwise marginalized in ways that are different from the "dominant" culture. I recognize that, and I strive to make therapy a place of refuge—a space where you can feel supported as we navigate these challenges together.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Motivational Interviewing External link

Completing intensive training in Motivational Interviewing transformed my work. This approach centers on uncovering your core values—often hidden beneath the noise—and aligning your actions with what truly matters. I'm inspired to help clients clarify what’s most important to them and take meaningful steps toward a life that reflects those values.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) External link

With training in ACT, I support clients in accepting where they are—thoughts, feelings, and all—without judgment, while encouraging growth through committed action aligned with their values. Paired with Motivational Interviewing, we clarify what truly matters to you and take meaningful steps toward a fulfilling life, embracing both acceptance and purposeful change.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Abuse External link

I have specialized training in treating the effects of trauma. I have extensive experience working with survivors of childhood abuse, domestic violence, and trauma related to housing instability and/or past addiction.

  • Depression External link

I have deep experience supporting people living with depression—whether it’s a response to our world’s upheaval or rooted in trauma, chronic pain, family dysfunction, or racial injustice. Depression can be a lingering wound or a protective response. Together, we explore its origins with compassion and move toward healing, connection, and renewed direction.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety can feel like you can’t breathe—your heart races, your thoughts spiral, and everything feels overwhelming. It’s one of the most debilitating human experiences. I’ve pursued specialized training to help people manage anxiety and panic. My approach is practical and grounded: we talk honestly about what’s fueling your anxiety and find real-world tools to help you break free from the prison of worry.

  • Domestic Abuse External link

Being in or healing from domestic abuse can feel confusing, isolating, and deeply complicated. I have extensive experience supporting survivors as they work toward safety, clarity, and fulfillment. Together, we explore how the abuse has affected you, and what healing looks like on your terms—helping you reclaim your voice, your power, and a future that feels like your own.
