My Approach to Helping
I utilize CBT, Humanistic, and Mindfulness-based approaches with clients to help us understand our unique yet collective experiences through a calm, warm, and supportive manner. I am eclectic counselor, meaning I will use whatever approach will benefit you most in any given session. My professional interest is in meeting people where they are at while also helping them meet their full potential as they see it: the authentic 'you.'
The 'active ingredient' in counseling, according to meta-analyses of hundreds of studies is "empathy," resulting in "therapeutic alliance/rapport." In short, as long as I can empathize with you (I assure you I can), then you will benefit from counseling at Blair Counseling & Wellness, LLP and will be, each day, closer to self-actualization.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S. in Psychology Magna Cum Laude), and from Wright State University where I earned a Master's of Science in Counseling. I enjoy spending time with loved ones & friends, meditation, playing guitar, & reading about philosophy and spirituality. I enjoy being a counselor and look forward to working with you! My areas of clinical interest are anxiety, depression, relationships, communication skills, career counseling, and general psychedelic integration and 'pre-trip' consultation (non-certified) from a non-dual spiritual, secular, agnostic point of view. At Blair Counseling & Wellness, I deliver spiritual substance and results without the dogmatic, judgmental ideology and theological assumptions. However, I am open to and deeply inspired by all religions, and appreciate, welcome, and celebrate all perspectives and walks of life/backgrounds. In one word, Blair Counseling & Wellness is a 'humanistic' counseling practice.
