I work existentially because I know the value of living existentially—in the present, engaged in authentic relationships, and in light of the existential givens (death/life, freedom/responsibility, etc.). Since 2024, I have sought specific training in the Existential-Humanistic approach to psychotherapy and served on the board of Existential-Humanistic Northwest. In therapy, I relate to you as a fellow human being with concerns about how to live meaningfully, not as a machine with broken parts.
I have training in nature-based interventions through the Somatic Nature Therapy Institute, and I am able to offer sessions supporting your healing through reconnection with the natural world. We often forget that, as humans, we ARE nature, and reconnection with our fellow nature beings can aid us through a variety of mental health concerns. According to your comfort and needs, this work can take place in-office or outdoors through walk-and-talk or sit-down therapy sessions in SE Portland, OR.

I have professional experience and education working with clients around codependency. This style of relating to self and others is more common than you might think, and it can wreak havoc on our lives and wellbeing. It often stems from experiences of trauma or unmet needs in childhood, and together, we can explore your history, relationship patterns, and boundary styles. Through greater clarity and compassion, you don’t have to feel stuck and frustrated in this exhausting relational strategy.
