My Ideal Client

Life is messy and often leaves us feeling confused, stuck and insecure in our relationships and in our sense of self. Whether you’re grappling with inner shame, questions about your identity or are experiencing relationship struggles, I’m here to help. I offer a compassionate approach to collaboratively guide you through the noise of strong emotions, explore the patterns that keep repeating, and strive towards more balance, peace and alignment with your authentic self.

My Approach to Helping

I truly believe that every person has value, strengths, and is deserving and in need of supportive connection with others. With that in mind, you can expect that first and foremost I’m here to listen and understand your story. I’m here so we can work together to unpack complicated emotions, messages you’ve been told, and how you interact with the world around you so we can move towards building more sustainable and supportive relationships with yourself and others. My style is warm, compassionate, collaborative and at times even humorous! With my view that therapy is a relationship built on trust, I bring honesty, genuine care for every client, and respect for differences in our work together. I am antiracist, sex and body positive, and LGBTQIA+, poly, and kink-affirming, and am always here to discuss the significance our identities have in life and therapy.

More About the People I Treat

My ideal client appreciates collaboration and honesty in the therapeutic relationship, but is also okay with being more directly guided towards change when necessary. For couples work, I enjoy working with those who have deep respect for one another, but are ready to work through the emotionally driven patterns that can fuel disconnection. I invite clients to be honest about what’s working and what’s coming up for them in therapy, so we more effectively work towards goals in a trusting manner. I also particularly enjoy working with people whose identities and experiences around sex and gender may leave them feeling misunderstood/stigmatized by society. As a queer person who has seen huge benefits from working with queer therapists myself, I would love to offer similar value to my clients. My experience has centered around working with adult individuals and couples on matters related to communication, relational connection, trauma, life transitions, intimacy, anxiety, and identity.
