My Ideal Client

A good client fit... Struggling with: Self-esteem Making or maintaining safe/stable relationships Thoughts/beliefs/fears that keep you from engaging with life’s beautiful moments Recognizing value in things that matter to you You’ve experienced significant trauma or pain throughout your life You prefer to meet in-person You’re: Seeking a more meaningful life Feeling stuck Ready to do hard and meaningful work Open to Buddhist philosophies steeped in anti-racist, social-justice principles

My Approach to Helping

Feeling stuck? Lonely? Have the felt sense that everyone else knows the social rules of being Human except for you? Are relationships hard? Maybe you’re having a hard time doing the things everyone says you “have such great potential” to do. If so, I think you’re in the right place. Often, a life that looks and feels this way is the result of trauma. The therapy I practice is steeped in the belief that the majority of things we struggle with are rooted in some form of trauma. We’ve had to adapt in some form or another to get through frightening or difficult experiences. Those adaptations we’ve made were Wise things to do at the time. Using those adaptations in the here-and-now are likely the Unwise things getting in the way of the life we’d prefer to have. In therapy, we will work together to make gentle contact with our past hurts to create an actionable path forward steeped in Compassion (Karuna) and Loving Kindness (Metta).
