My Ideal Client

I work with clients around gender and sexuality, including queer, transgender, and gender-diverse individuals, as well as folks who are involved in BDSM/Kink, non-monogamy, polyamory, or relationship anarchy. I do relational counseling with folks in multi-partner relationship structures, as well as couples counseling.

My Approach to Helping

I approach my work from trauma-informed, relational, and feminist perspectives, which involve meeting a client where they are coming from, and sharing power in the space. I believe every relationship we are in helps inform who we are and that therapy is a great place to explore that. Most of my work is talk-therapy based, but I am also trained in EMDR and FLASH, and also incorporate bits and pieces of other theoretical frameworks like parts work and body-centered therapies.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because listening to people, offering empathy and support, and wanting to understand and help others understand how this being human in a relational context thing works has been part of how I move through the world as far back as I can remember.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Gender Identity External link

I have extensive experience supporting folks around gender identity, including gender transition. As a cis woman, I do not share the lived experience of transgender, non-binary, or gender diverse individuals. However a combination of my clinical work and the many members of family and community who are transgender helps me be an informed and supportive ally to folks in these communities.

  • Polyamorous and Open Relationships External link

I have personal and professional experience with non-monogamy, polyamory, and open relationships.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

I am a queer therapist with extensive experience working with and support folks who are LGBTQIA+

  • Loss or Grief External link

I have experienced a significant amount of loss in my own life and that has helped me support others through diverse experiences of grief and loss.
