My Ideal Client

People can be intelligent and self-aware, spending considerable time understanding their patterns—yet still feel stuck. The issue might not be a lack of awareness, but how you're thinking about yourself. I commonly see brutal self-criticism that creates shame and shutdown instead of change. I also see avoidance cycles—experiencing unreliable motivation and struggling to harness it, which creates overwhelm that leads to retreating to safe routines.

My Approach to Helping

You can't see your patterns when you're caught up in them, so I'll provide an outside perspective. Whether you're stuck in self-attack or avoidance, I'll give direct feedback as we work together to find a more effective way to hold yourself accountable and make meaningful changes. By examining your experiences together, you will develop insights that shift how you talk to yourself about the patterns in your life. These insights often reveal what matters most to you, even when your patterns are the source of your suffering.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

Real change happens when you intentionally bring insights from our sessions to your life outside of therapy. We'll work together to make these insights practical and usable in your daily life. A question to consider as you think about working with me: What patterns do you understand intellectually but still feel powerless to change?

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety shows up everywhere and stops us from doing the things we most want to do. It makes our brains run at full speed and our bodies feel the need to escape. I teach techniques helpful in managing both the mental and physical symptoms of anxiety.

  • Depression External link

Depression is everywhere yet most people don't understand it. The brain's reward system isn't working properly, which leads to difficulty doing basic things in everyday life. It won't be easy, but we will work together to slowly build patterns of thought and behavior that help to break free of depressive cycles.

  • ADHD External link

As a therapist, I help people with ADHD figure out what actually works for their brain. We tackle the difficult stuff - things you have likely tried but not been able to maintain - like staying organized, managing emotions, and finding focus without judgment. ADHD brains work differently, and that's not a bad thing. Together we'll discover your strengths, build practical skills, and help you feel more in control of your daily life.
