My Ideal Client

My practice focuses on supporting children who are struggling with anxiety, big emotions, self-esteem and relationship difficulties. I enjoy supporting children and their adults in fostering their feelings of attunement and connectedness with one another. I also enjoy supporting families as they navigate new developmental stages and stressors. In addition to my work with young children, I also provide individual counseling for parents who are caring for their emotional health and wellbeing.

My Background and Approach

I use play, expressive arts, and talk therapy in my practice with children and adults. My work is grounded in a person-centered approach, meaning that you can expect our work together to be relationally focused, collaborative and guided by your individual needs. I believe that understanding, self-compassion, and genuineness are foundational to healing and growth. My background includes extensive training in Child Centered Play Therapy, which is a developmentally responsive and relationally-based counseling intervention for young children who experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. I also enjoy supporting caregivers in their relationships with their children using Child Parent Relationship Therapy. I have a master's degree in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University and a doctorate degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas, where I specialized in play therapy and assessment of children.
