My Ideal Client

Many of my clients are individuals or families navigating the complexities of neurodiversity, sometimes without yet having a name for what they’re experiencing. They may struggle with emotional regulation, communication, sensory sensitivity, or feeling out of sync with others. Parents may feel overwhelmed or unsure how to best support their child or make sense of certain behaviors. Often, their goals include building stronger relationships, improving daily routines, and creating more calm.

My Background and Approach

My approach is affirming, relational, and strength-based. Using tools from Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and more, I tailor each session to your needs—creating a safe, collaborative space for growth, connection, and meaningful change. I previously spent 8 years working in Special Education supporting a wide range of youth and families in finding solutions, successes and support. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the barriers faced and how difficult it can be to find a provider who understands complex needs. It has also equipped me with a wide range of knowledge and tools to help families and youth feel more optimistic and successful.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a family therapist because I believe that people are not problems. I believe that problems exist between people or between someone and the context they are in. This means there are no "bad" parents, "difficult" kids or any assigning of blame. We are all doing the best we can, with the skills we have, in an environment that may not be set up for our success. In schools, I spent a lot of time helping students find ways to get their needs met in ways that worked. I believe strongly that advocacy skills support lifelong success. I also feel like therapy work can be done in many ways. Many of the youth I've supported do not learn and grow in traditional ways, which can include traditional talk therapy. I try to bring in creative interventions, play, visuals and other outlets.
