My Ideal Client

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or a nagging feeling that something just isn’t okay? Have the difficult experiences of your past started to come back to the surface? Maybe this is all having an impact on your relationships and your ability to go about your daily life. You are not alone. I help survivors of childhood and interpersonal trauma look at how their experiences have shaped them and explore how to take back their lives from the memories that have burdened them for so long.

How I Can Help You

I specialize in working with folks who have experienced trauma by the hands of another person, including sexual assault or abuse, physical abuse or neglect, emotional abuse or neglect, and verbal abuse. Many of my clients have experienced multiple incidents of trauma, of various types, by various people. It can be so difficult to trust others after being hurt by people in your life. I know that putting your trust in a therapist is no different, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. Trauma therapy is tough work, and it happens best in the context of a safe and supportive relationship between therapist and client. I am here to hold the unspeakable things with you so that you don't have to do this by yourself anymore. Together, we will work to build a trusting and authentic relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore what happened in your life, the ways you have survived, and how to get unstuck and move toward a life that is ruled by you, not the trauma.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a survivor of trauma myself, I am intimately familiar with the powerful impact therapy can have on a person’s life. I know what it is like to put your trust in a professional during your most raw and painful moments, and I treat this responsibility with a great deal of care. It is this personal experience that led me to focus my therapeutic work on helping others who have experienced trauma. You deserve to be heard, respected, and embraced for who you are, and your story deserves to be told. I truly love my work as a therapist, and I feel so fortunate to get to do this for a living. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they take back their power from the memories that made them feel powerless. When I'm not with my clients, you can find me exploring the outdoors with my dog, Wally, curled up on the couch reading a good book on a rainy day, or spending time with friends exploring the Portland food and music scenes.
