My Ideal Client

Supporting people in healing from past harm is the heart of my work – I have experience supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, and I’m trained in CPT, an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. I also work with people navigating depression, insomnia, stress, and life transitions. If you're looking to nurture healthier relationships with yourself and others, rediscover joy, or grow closer to what matters most to you, I'd be honored to help you build a life you're proud and excited to lead.

My Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy is collaborative, anti-oppression, and evidence-based. Most of us grow up absorbing messages we never agreed to: that what happened to us was our fault or is shameful, that we're not worthy, that we're too much or not enough. Together, we'll get curious about the beliefs you carry, where they come from, and which are really yours and which you want to let go of. The goal is to make room for a life that feels more free, more connected, and more centered on what matters to you. I’m an advocate at heart: I believe in self-determination and empowerment, so you’ll always have someone rooting for you. People who’ve worked with me in the past have described my approach as warm and empathetic, and as creating a very safe, “soft” space where people feel comfortable, seen, and heard. My hope is that through our work together, you feel more in charge of your life, more empowered, and more in touch with joy and connection.

My Values as a Therapist

I believe that all people deserve to have peace, safety, and respect in their lives, and I hope to be a part of creating that in the therapy room with people from all walks of life. I am a passionate advocate for people healing from oppression, violence, and trauma, especially domestic and sexual violence. I care about helping to build a safer and more just world through a combination of social change and directly supporting people. Most of my experience centers on studying and resisting the ways that oppressive systems and interpersonal violence (like domestic abuse and sexual assault) intersect. It's important to me to support clients using evidence-based approaches – making use of techniques backed by research helps me provide the best support I can. I'm fully trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, and in similarly proven treatments for depression and insomnia.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Feminist External link

I believe all people deserve to be free of harm, violence, abuse, and oppression – and that to accomplish this, society needs to change. Before becoming a therapist, I studied, wrote, and educated people about the links between oppressive systems and domestic and sexual violence. In my work as a therapist, I support people healing from both interpersonal harm and institutional harm.

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

Most of us grow up absorbing messages from oppressive institutions that we never agreed to: that what happened to us was our fault or is shameful, that we're not worthy, that we're too much or not enough. These messages come from the oppressive systems all around us - it's impossible not to take them in. Together, we'll get curious about the beliefs you carry and where they come from. I’ll follow your lead as we work to figure out which are really yours and which you want to let go of.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Domestic Abuse External link

Before becoming a therapist, I've worked for eight years as an advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. I bring training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that will help us acknowledge the ways your trauma may still be impacting you as well as clearing a path for you to let it go. My advocacy experience also means I can concretely help you navigate systems that can often feel overwhelming and set up to fail us. You don't have to do this alone.
