My Ideal Client

Over the past 30 years of providing counseling and therapy, the one constant for all clients is that everyone has “lost“ something or someone in their lives. It may be the loss of a specific person or it may be the loss of a specific activity due to illness or resulting from an accident. It may be the loss of closeness with a partner/spouse, or with a spiritual entity, or loss of employment or the loss of the sense of self. Together, we will explore those losses in a safe space.

My Approach to Helping

I am a highly skilled listener, using compassion and patience to understand your specific needs. I will ask questions when I don’t understand something you have said, or when I want to assure my perceptions align with yours, everyone wants to be heard and valued for who they are without judgment or criticism. I will provide a safe space to hear you.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

During my career, I have worked in many mental health settings, including establishing and maintaining a private therapy practice for the past 30+ years, working in hospitals, hospice settings, private homes, community counseling settings, as well as working in the administrative arm of mental health as the former director of adult mental health services for the state of Oregon. All of this is to say that each and every one of us is an individual and bring to counseling our unique experiences and questions. I look forward to serving you to the best of my ability with compassion and inclusivity.
