My Ideal Client

Pain and challenges are an inevitable part of the human experience, but that doesn’t mean they have to ruin or rule our lives. If you are a person who has struggled with trauma, addiction, guilt, and shame, I want to help you better understand your pain, find meaning in the experiences you have survived, and integrate coping strategies into your life that feel authentic. My clients should be ready to work on their issues and will experience active engagement in our sessions.

My Approach to Helping

My hope for every client I work with is that their inner and outer selves are congruent and aligned with their overall goals. Whatever part of the change process you are on, I am here to support and bear witness to your journey. Pulling from Mindfulness, Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I hope to walk alongside your healing path and challenge old patterns that may get in your way. I am here to listen, validate when appropriate and challenge you when unhelpful thinking enters the therapeutic space. I have experience working with adults and families struggling with addiction, trauma, guilt, parenting, systems-involvement, self-forgiveness, and experiences of psychosis.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I know firsthand the value of personal growth in the therapeutic process (even when it feels really scary) and believe every person has the potential to live the life they’ve always imagined. There is no better feelings than recognizing change within yourself and creating space for your spirit and mind to wander. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and I received my Master's Degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark. When I’m not working, I like to make food for family and friends, tend to my garden, watch Criterion Collection movies, and indulge in reality TV.
