My Background and Approach
I earned my MSW from Portland State University and have worked extensively in community mental health and houseless services, supporting people navigating trauma, severe mental illness, substance use, chronic suicidality, and systemic barriers. These experiences taught me adaptability, humility, and deep respect for the resilience people carry. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, drawing on narrative therapy, attachment theory, motivational interviewing, empowerment theory, collaborative problem solving, and mindfulness. I use these tools flexibly, guided by your pace, values, and goals. Above all, I prioritize building trust and safety, creating the foundation for deeper, meaningful work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe identities are sources of wisdom, not problems to solve. I’m a white, queer, nonbinary femme with 12+ years practicing nonmonogamy. My lived experiences and community roots shape how I listen and the care I bring. I deeply value community building and mutual aid in my personal life. In therapy, this translates to a practice grounded in solidarity, honoring clients' identities and experiences while exploring space for growth, both individually and within their supporting systems. You can expect warmth, transparency, and humor in our work together. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, hosting weekly dinners for friends and family, and eating elaborate snacks in bed while binge watching TV.
