My Ideal Client

My clients struggle with some version of OCD, anxiety, or both. Life has become smaller and more restrictive over time leading to less flexibility and less time spent pursing values. I offer a compassionate and evidenced based approach. Treatment is focused on creating behavioral changes, starting with areas where symptoms have had the most significant, and negative life-impacts so we can reduce the frequency and intensity of unwanted thoughts, feelings like panic, and worry.

My Background and Approach

I have specialized in the evidence-based treatment of OCD-spectrum and anxiety related disorders. These methods have been widely researched and are the gold standard of treatment for OCD-spectrum and Anxiety disorders. I specialize in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have focused on treating these sets of symptoms for over 5 years, working with hundreds of individuals and families, in residential and outpatient setting. I have completed specialized trainings including BTTI, IOCDF Behavior Training Institute, 2019, Supporting Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Yale Child Study Center, 2020, and Clinical Supervision, Lewis and Clark College, 2021. I have been a speaker and multiple professional conferences for both the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).

Why We are a Good Fit for You

Treating OCD and Anxiety requires a collaborative and supportive process tailored to each individual. We will work to treat your symptoms by learning to sit with feelings like fear, anxiety, and panic. Facing these emotions actually helps them shrink and become less intense over time. By learning to sit with uncomfortable emotions without trying to control them through avoidance or compulsions, acceptance can grow. Treatment can be a daunting process for many so compassion and flexibility are critical. Each individual always chooses how hard they are willing to push themselves in order to face challenges and create change. My clients usually struggle with at least one of the following: Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias, Agoraphobia, Separation Anxiety, Body Dysmorphia, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
