With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Stephens College and a master's in social work from the University of South Carolina, Jennifer Messina's diverse mental health background includes case management for youth aging out of foster care, therapeutic & behavioral management for geriatric patients in home health care, and as a therapist at an inpatient psychiatric center/in private practice.

My Approach to Helping

She's deeply passionate about the social work vocation, with a wholehearted belief in creating a nurturing, safe environment for any navigating unique struggles: gender dysphoria, LGBTQIA, racial discrimination, ageism, or socioeconomic disadvantage. Her commitment to clients shows in her use of evidence-based techniques: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), & Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She's now pursuing specialized training in hypnosis therapy through the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals.
