My Approach to Helping

My therapy is queer-affirming and grounded in Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and psychoanalytic approaches. We will not only be getting to the deeper layers of what is going on, but we will actively work on creating change to address both the immediacy of stressors in congruence with overarching patterns. Through Social Constructivism and Queer Theory I look to address systematic narratives that may be shaping your life and work with you to dismantle inharmonious beliefs that are keeping you restrained from who you want to be.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all have within ourselves strengths and narratives of an ideal self, fully embracing that our selves can both also change in shift not just within our environment but within our own needs as we grow. I will approach you with a non-expert stance as I believe in my client's worldview, your own expertise, and your own story as you've read it your whole life. I believe in collaboration for treatment and will utilize our therapeutic relationship as a Northstar for supporting you in reaching your goals. I believe in rejecting ideology of what an ideal life "should" be under our current, late capitalist, politics, and instead aim to view treatment as holistic and eclectic as I bring in approaches from your life as well as learned theory.
