My Approach to Helping

Grounded in a Person-Centered approach, I begin every therapeutic relationship by honoring the uniqueness of the client and what gifts they have to share with the world. I draw from the following approaches to help my clients in these ways; CBT: To help the mind become a place of safety and help, rather than chaos. DBT: To help my clients get their needs met; Physiologically and interpersonally. ACT: To help clients live a life worthwhile, to become emotionally flexible, and teach clients to relate to themselves through their values rather than their emotions. IFS: To explore the parts of us that protect deeply held pain, and to release and transform those exiled parts. Choice Theory: To practically assess the day-to-day decisions clients make and if they are aligning with their greater purpose. Gestalt: To help clients explore how they perceive, know, and understand themselves in context to their environment and world. TA: To help clients see interactions as equal and empowering.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe the inherent whole is deeply overlooked in culture today. I became a yoga instructor and practiced herbal medicine for years prior to becoming a clinician. I became a therapist because I wanted to learn the practical skills that help people to access the place of Self-assured confidence and their inner locus of control. I am interested in the person sitting in front of me and what I can do to help them access themselves in a way that is more safe, effective, comfortable, and actualizing to their fullest Selfhood.
