My Ideal Client

I work with teens and adults experiencing mental health or relational struggles. Many of the people I work with are in recovery from depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, & trauma (especially religious trauma) and feel the burnout of perfectionism and constant self-criticism. I offer a space to slow down and explore the patterns holding you back from becoming the person you want to be, working with you to create lasting and meaningful change.

My Approach to Helping

My therapeutic style is warm, direct, and grounded in the belief that transformation occurs in the context of relational safety, as we relate to our pain instead of reacting from it. I draw on evidence-based therapeutic modalities and collaborate with you to create an approach that is tailored to you, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I work with three primary therapies: EMDR & somatics, relational therapy, and Gestalt. I also receive ongoing supervision in RO-DBT, a modality developed for people who struggle with habits of over-control—such as perfectionism, emotional inhibition, or social isolation. I strive to offer therapy that is human, humble, and expansive.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I completed my pre-graduate training at The Liberation Institute, an organization dedicated to practicing therapy through the framework of liberation psychology and decolonial praxis. This training instilled in me a strong value for practicing from foundations of justice and humility and viewing the people I work with as the true experts in their own lives. My approach to therapy is rooted in my lived experience and understanding of the ways in which systemic injustice impacts our individual and collective wellbeing. I believe therapy is most effective when topics such as colonialism, heteronormative patriarchy, and capitalism are openly addressed, and I strive to create a therapeutic container that minimizes power dynamics as much as possible.
