My Ideal Client

I am a Licensed Counselor in both Oregon and Washington. I am happy to see you in person at my office or via telehealth.

My Approach to Helping

As a Licensed Professional Counselor trained in Art Therapy and a yoga instructor, I am able to offer experiential therapy, mindfulness, as well as breath and movement work to promote healing and connection. It is my hope that through our work together you will feel felt, heard and nurtured. Over the past 25 years, I have worked with children and adults who have experienced anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. I am deeply committed to working with clients who have experienced loss and help them with their journey.

My Values as a Therapist

I believe in a collaborative and nurturing approach to counseling. I feel that people are shaped by the culture in which they were raised, the experiences they have had, and the stories they create about themselves. Through our work together, I will help you tell your story; to find your voice, and create a new narrative. Through the use of mindfulness, breath and body work you will develop techniques to decrease anxiety, feel empowered and connected.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Expressive Art Therapy External link

I hold a Masters Degree in Expressive Art Therapy and I was an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Art Therapy Program at Marylhurst University. I incorporate art, movement, breath and mindfulness in our sessions. Talking about trauma can be difficult, art therapy allows you to express yourself and tell your story without using words in a safe non-judgmental space. You don't have to be an artist to use art therapy and we can discuss if this is the right modality for you.

Issues I Treat

  • Parenting External link

I have over 25 years working with children and families., as a Child and Family Therapist working in schools and as Mental Health Consultant for an Early Childhood Program. I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and have led multiple parent education groups and provided trainings on parenting to educators.
