My Approach

I strive to establish a supportive, respectful, and affirming environment in which clients can identify and explore thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and recurring patterns of behavior that may be interfering with their capacity to experience a fuller and more satisfying life. I place a high emphasis on the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and I offer a collaborative, relational, and culturally sensitive approach in which both therapist and client are actively working together to deepen self-understanding and promote positive change.

My Background

I am a psychologist licensed by the Oregon Board of Psychologist Examiners. I earned a Master's and Doctor of Psychology Degrees in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (fully accredited by the American Psychological Association), and completed an APA-approved internship as well as a post-doctoral residency. I am also completing additional analytic training at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Center in Northwest Portland. I am trained in psychoanalytic, humanistic/existential, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I work with a wide array of issues surrounding anxiety, depression, interpersonal struggles, grief/loss, identity (including LGBTQ), and post-trauma concerns.
