My Ideal Client

Counseling is for everyone. Whether processing the past, finding contentment in the present, or looking at goals towards the future - I am so proud of you. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, exploring what it is to be in the quarter life stage and how to become your own person. From just entering high school to graduating from your grad degree program, or navigating independence - there is so much to process in our emerging adulthood. You are worth listening to.

My Background and Approach

My approach to counseling is integrative in nature. I believe that every individual is unique, and I love to match my style to the client rather than vice versa. I am rooted in person-centered theory, believing that the client is the expert on their own lives and healing can occur through empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. I also integrate internal family systems, interpersonal theory, and expressive arts practices into my practice. Though my services are virtual there are still so many ways to integrate creativity into our healing and mental health journey. I have experience working with folks through life transitions, schooling, and differentiating their identities in emerging adulthood as well - and can bring a solution focused and/or identity exploration lens to the table. I am here to meet you where you are at, and help you achieve your goals and recognize the power you hold.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am from the PNW, having lived in Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland. I received my Master’s in counseling from Portland State University. My areas of focus while training to become a counselor were adolescence and suicide prevention. I previously worked for the Seattle Crisis Clinic as a teen suicide prevention specialist. I worked at Aloha High School as a school counselor for 2 years, providing counseling to students and families. In my free time I am also a licensed yoga teacher, and value the connection between body and mind. I have worked with theater nonprofits and public schools for a majority of my life - and have experience with the LGBTQ community. I believe in lifelong learning, and putting in active work to be an ally to by queer and BIPOC friends and community members. It is so much more than just a statement, it is a commitment to help create change. I also have a cat and love talking about pets!
