My Ideal Client

As you carry the unshared, judged, or deeply protected wounds of your life, you have created remarkable and necessary ways of carrying them that you may now find troubling. Old patterns may be showing up in important relationships, or you might have painful reactions to everyday events, leaving you confused and frustrated. There is nothing about you that needs fixing, but parts of you need more understanding and acceptance, or encouragement to grow into the present moment.

My Approach to Helping

After taking an extended tour through crisis response and community counseling prior to licensure, I bring a seasoned approach that allows me to listen deeply, to understand not only your story but the frames outside your story that hold it in place, and to explore with you what it is you need and desire. After graduating from the University of Florida Counselor Education program I have worked as a victim advocate, community mental health counselor, crisis first responder, and outpatient therapist. Through this I have found that a blend of client-centered, narrative, ACT, and trauma-focused approaches including EMDR, support people in addressing the ways that painful life experiences have not only directly impacted their lives but have also created internal patterns that show up in confusing and frustrating ways.
