My Ideal Client

Most of my clients are women and/or are part of the LGBQIA2++ community. My clients initially seek my care due to feelings of shame, navigating unfulfilling lives, and/or being adversely affected from past trauma. They often have a low sense of self worth and are examining the health of their relationships.

My Approach to Helping

My work is eclectic (meaning pulling from many perspectives) and tailored to each individual client. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches depending on your goals, personality, and what we discover together in therapy. Modalities I frequently use include Person-Centered Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Strengths-Based approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Multicultural perspectives, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I do NOT provide EMDR or Somatic Therapy, which can be incredibly helpful for some clients with significant trauma history. In my sessions, we tend to process things verbally, with support and reconsideration of our perspectives from the past. I believe in laughter, tears, calling you out when you unfairly criticize yourself and gently push self-compassion.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a fierce advocate for vulnerable individuals and support transgender and nonbinary clients (including writing letters of support for gender-affirming healthcare). I am sex-positive, kink-positive and support ethical nonmonogamy, I do not permit ongoing and pervasive oppressive or discriminatory beliefs/behavior in treatment. However, if there is a desire to eliminate these beliefs, you are welcome. I am a member of the LGBTQIA2++ community, self-identifying as lesbian and queer. I support labels or no labels.
