My Ideal Client

I work with individuals navigating trauma, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational disruptions, and building self-esteem. I am excited to work with people across identities, and specialize in working with LGBTQ+ individuals.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is grounded in relational-cultural theory, informed by feminist and anti-oppression counseling. I support individuals who are trying to disrupt the patterns of disconnection and overwhelm in their lives. You may feel isolated and stuck in a cycle of anxious thoughts. You may feel hopeless with the state of the world, and struggle giving yourself grace in a world that tells us we are not enough. Our work together will emphasize building connection as healing, reducing isolation and building agency and self-compassion in a world that tries to take that away. Together, we collaborate to address your concerns in ways that feel meaningful and effective for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all do better when we lean towards each other. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I see the way that we each unlearn the oppressive systems we live in each day to find healing and connection. We all resist in our unique ways to find healing, and I am hear to join you on that journey.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

Anxious thoughts have a tendency to dominate our thoughts, taking time away from finding connection and joy. Using a trauma-informed integrative approach through ACT and relational cultural theory, I collaborate with clients to identify the root cause of anxiety while developing coping tools to better hold anxiety in the moment.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

As a queer person who grew up in rural Washington State, I understand what it means to live in a heteronormative society. I am here to provide an intersectional lens to our sessions together. Through a relational cultural theory lens, my clients and I address counseling questions knowing that we can't separate our individual issues from the society we live in; context matters. Even in a society that asks us to hide who we are, we can move toward connection and healing.

  • Gender Identity External link

The journey to find your specific gender identity is unique to you. I integrate a relational cultural theory lens to gender identity questions, incorporating how intersecting identities of gender, sexuality, race, culture, disability, class, and other pieces of yourself interact and impact figuring out who you are. I am able to provide gender affirming surgery letters for eligible clients, supporting you in taking the next step toward living in the body that is most authentically you.
