My Ideal Client

Being an athlete is hard! There are so many unique challenges and life lessons that we can learn. As a former college athlete and coach I understand this world and have been personally affected by it. Athlete's are special and posses lots of traits that can help or hurt them. I want to help you perform better in competition, and be a better person away from it.

My Background and Approach

As a former college football player and coach, I have been exposed to a variety of unique challenges that student-athletes can face. In my own athletic career I dealt with performance anxiety, a lack of confidence, and an identity crisis when my career came to an end. This experience is what led me to pursue a career in counseling. I use an existential approach that explores your values, freedom, and life’s big questions. I also pull from Solution-Focused strategies and CBT to build coping skills and help reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors so you can better manage life’s challenges.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

Finding the right therapist can be tough. I’m all about being real, building trust, and making sure we both feel comfortable showing up as ourselves. If we’re a good fit—great! If not, that’s okay too. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up a consultation.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Adjustment Disorder External link

I believe that change is the only constant in life. I aim to address this by helping you learn to rely on yourself.

  • ADHD External link

I have ADHD myself! I have learned various behavioral interventions to assist with some of the roadblocks ADHD can throw at us.

  • Men's Issues External link

I aim to create a non-judgmental space where men in particular feel comfortable discussing emotions. This can be difficult to do, as society has placed expectations on how men are supposed to be. Together, we can deconstruct some of these expectations, however they may affect you.
