My Ideal Client

I love working with humans who are struggling with self actualization, anxiety, a harsh inner critic, and relationship issues. People who have been drawn to work with me are trying to figure out "what next?" and how to make sense of the world, looking for greater meaning, deeper connection in relationships and to the world, as well as healthier boundaries, work life balance and navigating transitions. I also love working with parents and teachers.

My Approach to Helping

As relational and body based counselor, we will employ many methods of working together, one of which is “mindfulness.” This is a way of paying attention to yourself with curiosity, openness, and acceptance. It often means closing your eyes to focus your attention on your actual experiences in the moment. Don't worry! I won't just be asking you to practice breathing! Together, we will get curious about your experiences, about what you want and how you want to feel. In therapy, I listen deeply—to both what you share and what may be harder to put into words. Together, we gently explore patterns, and see if ther might be another pattern you would like to choose. A core part of my work is helping you develop self-compassion, so you can relate to yourself with more kindness and understanding.

More About the People I Treat

I worked in K-12 public schools for over 10 years as a counselor. I understand how systems can be difficult to work with and try to thrive. I love working with teachers, school staff, and parents to understand how to navigate the system to keep yourself and your kids whole. In our first few sessions, you can expect space to share your story and reflect on what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, we focus on building safety and connection, creating a supportive foundation as we work toward your goals at a pace that feels right for you. My practice is unique in that I integrate relational and somatic experiential approaches. This means we honor both what has shaped you over time and what is happening for you in the present moment—mind, body, and emotions. Please reach out to me and schedule a free 30 minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit for each other. I look forward to talking with you.
