My Ideal Client

Do you need support in coping with anxiety and/or depression, or needing to make meaning in a new life transition, or dealing with feeling “stuck” with yourself or in a relationship? I am here to provide guidance toward your own inner insight and understanding, layered with cultural understanding that is unique to you and your experience.

My Background and Approach

I consider therapy a collaborative process between a therapist and client(s). I work toward helping others develop more effective strategies that will result in more success as it relates to meeting their goals within the realm of the individual self and interpersonal relationships. I work with individuals and families from a systemic lens that allows exploration of issues around racism, sexism, and classism (to name a few). Overall, I utilize approaches rooted in a variety of areas depending on client needs. Much of my background stems from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), brief-solution focused therapy (BSF), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI).

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist to offer BIPOC representation to our local community. As I began my journey in mental health, I did not see very many providers that looked like me or represented cultural awareness I thought was key in understanding the complexities of an intersectional experience.
