My Ideal Client

I am here for the overthinkers, who are also the underfeelers. I love working with the ones who "know all the things" but struggle to embody what they know. Those who have survived yet do not know how to thrive. First we know, then we feel, then we do. I work with adolescents and adults who despite all they have accomplished, they do not feel fulfilled or feel as though they are missing something. Those in transition or those who feel stagnant.

My Approach to Helping

My approach to healing is specific to you, yet I follow the guidelines of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy thus start with building the relationship and stabilizing before moving to trauma work through depth psychology and/or trauma informed yoga. I have been a therapist for 14 years and have worked in hospitals, crisis call centers, community mental health and group practices. I am comprehensively trained in CBT, DBT, and am a trauma informed registered yoga teacher. I highly value the therapeutic relationship and work on growing it by teaching you coping skills and mindfulness to increase self awareness. Healing is beautiful, messy, and sometimes silly process and I welcome all aspects as I welcome all aspects of you. I am here for the long haul and want to help you learn how to heal you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We are all first time humans, and we all need grace. I believe that we heal in community and you do have everything you need within you, you just do not have the skills to get there. I do not believe in hopeless cases. We can all heal. Shame does not fit in my therapy room, we are here to move forward. I work from a systems perspective and understand that we live and work in a system that is actively working against us and impacting how we enjoy this little life. I have always been an advocate and have attracted advocates to my caseload; helping them manage the difficulty and emotional strain of advocacy work. My office is a safe space, for everyone. I am a yogi and have practiced for 20 years, it is part of my identity and guides my philosophy in life. I may also tell you about what the planets are doing or what phase the moon is in.
