My Ideal Client

I work with individuals who have been trying to "get it together" and live up to impossible expectations. I've been there, and together we will work to let those expectations go. It’s possible to let go of all the expectations you put on yourself to live a full and authentic life. My clients tend to be those struggling with eating disorders/disordered eating/body image issues, neurodivergent, and/or part of the lgbtq+ community. I work with adults and teens ages 16+.

My Approach to Helping

We cannot shame ourselves into behavior change, and that's why I take a compassion-focused approach to everything I do. Self-compassion might be brand new to you, which is totally cool! It's a skill that might not feel natural at first, but eventually can become the default way you respond to yourself (and hopefully others as well). I believe your experience in therapy should be as unique as you are. I integrate many different modalities to fit your personality, goals, and preferences. Everything we do in therapy will be collaborative, as my goal is to reduce the inherent power dynamic that the therapeutic relationship can create. I want you to feel in charge of your healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I received my Masters of Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark College and also work as an Intuitive Eating Coach. I operate from a Health at Every Size framework in my practice and take a strong stance against diet culture. When working with clients, I acknowledge the different systems of oppression that intersect and impact lives in ways that absolutely affect mental (and physical) health. I value showing up authentically, and will always show up as my full human self in session. If you're looking for a more formal therapist, maybe we won't be a good fit, and that's ok! I am a bit of an astrology nerd, and am always hooked on a new hyperfixation hobby! Always feel free to ask me about it.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Eating Disorder External link

I believe that everyone has the wisdom in them to recover and to live a full life. Our work together will revolve around guiding you back to the body trust you once had, so you can release any shame you may have around food, your body, and yourself. Together we will get to the root of and process the messages you learned about food and your body, unlearn the diet culture b.s, and create your unique path to healing.

  • ADHD External link

Whether you have a diagnosis or not, living with ADHD or what you think might be ADHD can feel like everyone got the memo for "how to life" except you. As someone with ADHD, I know how hard it can be to navigate a world not set up for you. Without creating systems and tools to set you up for success, it can feel like you're always one, two, or three steps behind. You are not broken, and together we can create those systems so you can thrive.
