My Ideal Client

Fatigued, disengaged, searching for meaning and purpose? Do you feel like you abandon or disregard your own thoughts and feelings in relationships with others? Do you experience worry or concern that never seems to stop? Whether it’s a specific problem or general displeasure that you are searching for help with, I will hold space for you as we work together to explore root causes, process trauma, and build and establish new patterns and skills that allow you to be fully present in your life.

My Background

I have experience working with survivors of domestic abuse/intimate partner violence, depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. In our work together, I will utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and self-compassion/mindfulness interventions. It is imperative to me to make sure that you are seen, heard, and understood in all your complexities and experiences. I practice with a critical lens that serves to make sure I’m accounting for your intersectional identities and the power/privilege and systemic issues that affect you, me, and our therapeutic relationship.

My Approach to Helping

My approach to therapy is to be supportive, empathetic, and validating. I hope to provide you an opportunity for growth-whether that is to feel better emotionally, develop as a person, and/or address issues in relationships. I like to use a variety of tools in session depending on what would serve you best. I also realize that your experience is unique to you and is connected to societal systems, cultural family background, gender expectations, and current roles and relationships. My goal is to listen openly and carefully to your experience and to accept you as you are. Our work together will benefit from us being as open and honest in our communication as possible. I focus on strengths and gaining insight over time. Coming to therapy is hard work, and I want to acknowledge the energy, time, and bravery that it takes for you to commit yourself to therapy. I look forward to working with you on your goals and helping you gain insight and positive change and growth for your future.
