My Approach

My treatment approach draws from the theoretical framework of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). This therapy focuses on pursuing a meaningful life through value driven behaviors and reducing the struggle brought on by problematic thoughts, feelings and behaviors in our lives. It is a highly effective intervention for treating depression, anxiety, chronic pain and other distressing conditions.

My Background

I have an MA from Lewis and Clark college in Counseling Psychology and am Licensed by the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. I have worked in community mental health since 2000 and have been in private practice mental health counseling since 2013. While I specialize in treating depression, anxiety and low self worth, I am also skilled and experienced in treating other mental health conditions that cause concern: Borderline Personality Disorder, substance abuse issues, existential issues, major life transitions, grief, loss and shame. I work primarily with populations over the age 17.
