My Approach to Helping

It does not take much to see we live in a world built for white, hetero, cisgender people. Coming from a background in social work, my approach emphasizes the impact that marginalization and oppression can have on the mental health and well-being of individuals. Our culture, communities, and external worlds can be hinder our ability to manage stress and the emotional waves of life; and this is particularly true for those who feel “othered” or alone. As a queer nonbinary human, I’ve done my fair share of work to unpack my own internalized shame. I value the vulnerability that clients of all ages bring to the therapeutic space, whether that is exploring the pain of childhood wounds, examining relationships and significant events, or delving into the thoughts and feelings that are keeping folks stuck and from living the life they want.

As a therapist, I am a firm believer that healing happens within relational settings. I will partner with you to better understand your unique experiences, needs, and emotions so you can create the meaningful change you seek.
