My Ideal Client

Everyone has unique qualities and strengths they bring to the world that can be used to build a meaningful life. At the same time, difficult experiences, both past and present, can get in the way of the lives that we want. Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship problems, experiences of being marginalized, and the stressors that come with each phase of life can make us feel stuck and un-sure of how to make the changes we want.

My Approach to Helping

Inviting you into therapy, my first priority is to truly listen. I want to understand your story, your lived experiences, your hopes, goals, and needs. In addition to understanding you as an individual, I seek to understand how the world around you has shaped your experiences, including the possible impact of systems of oppression and power. From there we can work together to create a personalized plan to get you moving forward using science-based therapies, while also bringing creativity and humor into the process. My goal is to build a trusting collaborative relationship where understanding leads to meaningful and lasting change. I believe in the inherent wisdom of every person and hope to collaborate with you to listen more deeply to yourself, to identify and work with your emotions, and to find ways to change what can be changed and accept what cannot. Armed with understanding, tools, and support, I will help you take hold of our own narrative.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Being queer and polyamorous, I have a particular interest in working with LGBTQIA+ and queer and poly folks. Additionally, as a white, western European cisgender woman, it’s important to me to acknowledge my un-earned privilege and approach work with you in a way that acknowledges systems of oppression and how they may impact both your life experiences and our work together. In your journey toward growth, healing, and liberation, you do not have to do it alone.
