My Background and Approach

Whether I'm treating individuals or couples, I work with all clients through a relational lens because healthy relationships are foundational to human thriving. I am a technically-focused clinician with masters' degrees in Conflict & Dispute Resolution and Couples & Family Therapy. I will help you view your interactional patterns in '3-G' (the good, the great and the gnarly!). From there, we'll guide them to full functionality using your individual and partnership strengths as fuel for the journey. Alongside exploring your attachment histories and patterns, I will help you build expertise in giving your partner(s) feedback about what you need in ways that keep negotiation moving along effectively. My job is to help restore your communication to its finest purpose: a technology for connection, security and satisfaction. To do this work in an informed and respectful way, I counsel from an inclusive and socially just lens.

Love comes in many shapes and forms. I support clients of all racial, sexual and religious backgrounds with curiosity, humility, and the common sense to provide referrals if it's evident that I'm out of my depth. Hablo español, y me encanta apoyar a la comunidad hispanohablante en Portland. I am a poly & kink-affirming, sex-positive provider. I also delight in supporting teens and transition-age youth who are finishing high school and moving into the responsibilities of early adulthood, with or without parental involvement. This includes support with applications to schools and colleges, career exploration, and negotiation of early personal and professional relationships of significance. If you've often wished for an ally to help with resolving 'messy human stuff,' whether you're a teen or an adult with a bit more life under your belt, I can't wait to join your team as a cheerleader and educator of effective communication and conflict resolution.
