Our Ideal Client

New Insights specializes in testing and assessment from brief screenings or treatment response all the way to a comprehensive diagnostic assessment or medical evaluation. Right now we are seeing a lot of folks who want to know if they are neurodivergent. ADHD, Autism Spectrum, and OCD are common referral questions. We offer diagnosis for other concerns as well and there are more details on the website. Women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ friendly and competent

Our Approach to Helping

We are committed to offering a non-judgmental space for you to bring any unanswered questions about your mental health. New Insights does not offer ongoing individual therapy. We do have a number of time limited, or brief interventions available (think 1 to 4 visits). We also offer topical skills training sessions for ADHD (see Interventions and Other Services on our website) and intermittent group therapy.

    Dr. Winter has experience in assessing ADHD in teens and adults. She is skilled at diagnostic clarification including co-morbid ADHD and ASD, PTSD, OCD and Bipolar Disorder. She has experience with therapy and skills training specialized for adults with ADHD. She is skilled at identifying ADHD in women, intellectually gifted folks, and those for whom this diagnosis is often missed. She understands the stigma around this diagnosis - even among medical and mental health providers

    Dr. Winter has worked in both forensic and civil settings with folks who have neurodevelopmental differences. She has worked in residential, hospital and outpatient settings in the past and is now focused mostly on assessment for general outpatient folk. She is skilled in diagnostic assessment for teenagers and adults who are verbally fluent and is culturally competent with the ASD community.
