My Ideal Client

If you’re feeling stuck in anxiety, OCD, ADHD, or navigating life transitions, the right support can make a meaningful difference. You may notice patterns of overthinking or working hard to hold everything together. Many of the adults and older teens (16+) I work with are thoughtful and capable, yet still feel more internally unsettled than they’d like. Therapy offers a steady place to gain clarity, move forward with greater ease, and reconnect with what matters most.

My Approach to Helping

Our work is collaborative and grounded in empathy, respectful curiosity, and a genuine understanding of you — your experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we focus on helping you better make sense of the patterns that may be contributing to what’s feeling difficult right now and build skills that support meaningful change. I use CBT, with ERP as needed, to help reduce anxiety, quiet the mental noise, and support greater ease and balance in your everyday life. As this work unfolds, many clients also notice improvements in their relationship with themselves and with others. Drawing on years in private practice and teaching psychology at the college level, I tailor our work to your needs and pace so you leave sessions feeling clearer, more grounded, and more settled day to day — better equipped to handle what’s ahead.

My Values as a Therapist

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a thoughtful, collaborative fit. I particularly enjoy working with adults and older teens who are ready for meaningful change and want to better understand themselves and their connections with others and the world around them. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. Many of my clients appreciate a balance of warmth, structure, and practical tools alongside deeper insight. If you’ve been carrying a lot lately, the right kind of support can help. If you’re feeling ready to take the next step, I’d be glad to connect. You’re welcome to call or email me to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), is a well-established approach for treating anxiety, depression, OCD, and phobias. In our work, CBT helps you better understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, and how small, intentional changes can reduce anxiety’s hold. The focus is on building awareness, flexibility, and more supportive ways of responding.

  • Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy External link

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a well-supported, effective approach for treating OCD and anxiety-related concerns. ERP is a behavioral therapy we work on together, at a pace that feels thoughtful and manageable. I place a strong emphasis on helping clients understand how and why ERP works, so the process feels collaborative, transparent, and empowering rather than overwhelming.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

I support clients who want help managing anxiety that may show up alongside depression, ADHD, OCD, phobias, relationship challenges, or life transitions. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we work to better understand anxiety patterns and build practical, supportive ways of responding. My approach is also informed by experience supporting individuals through the emotional impact of sudden change and disruption.

  • OCD External link

I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)–based exposure therapy to support clients diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Together, we work to better understand intrusive thoughts, urges, and the behaviors used to cope with them. Our work is collaborative, paced with care, and focused on helping you build flexibility, confidence, and a greater sense of freedom in daily life.

  • ADHD External link

I work with clients who have ADHD and executive functioning challenges using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)–based strategies and the stages of change model. Many clients feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or hard on themselves. Our work focuses on understanding these patterns, building practical supports, and making changes that feel manageable and sustainable. When helpful, I also collaborate with schools or workplaces to better support my clients’ needs.

  • Depression External link

Depression can be exhausting and can leave people feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves and their lives. I work alongside clients to help process the emotions and experiences connected to depression, while gently exploring patterns in thoughts and behaviors that can keep it in place. Together, we focus on creating small, meaningful shifts that support movement, self-compassion, and a renewed sense of engagement over time.
