My Ideal Client

I work with adult clients who are navigating the impacts of trauma, loss, or other difficult events. These often leave us feeling disconnected, struggling with strong emotions that are difficult to control, or feeling stuck in fight, flight, or freeze. If you find yourself longing for a shift, open to exploring how your emotions show up in your mind and body, or need a safe space to process life's complexities, please do not hesitate to reach out.

How I Can Help You

I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, with a commitment to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), to help reprocess traumatic memories, reduce distress, and foster healing. My clients often feel less activated, an increased sense of peace and purpose, and a renewed ability to be present with themselves and those around them. I also draw from mindfulness techniques, CBT, DBT, and Compassion Focused therapy to provide the tools, gentle explorations, and renewed healthy thought patterns that will allow you to move forward with hope.

My Values as a Therapist

I enjoy working alongside individuals to help them access healing, hope, and clarity. Everyone brings a unique set of strengths to the therapy process and I work to help identify and cultivate that. I practice through a compassionate and trauma- informed lens and aim to create an environment free of judgment that will allow you to explore areas of challenge and uncertainty safely. I consider myself an LGBTQIA+ ally and continue to grow in my knowledge of how systems prevent marginalized communities from accessing care and resources and how I can be an advocate for systemic change.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

EMDR is a structured therapy that helps you heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. It activates the brain's natural ability to process and resolve emotional pain. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation-such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds-while you briefly focus on a troubling memory or symptom. This helps the brain "re-file" the memory so it feels less intense and manageable. The outcome is increased regulation throughout your mind and nervous system.

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

(CBT) is a structured, evidenced-based approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. By understanding that your thoughts, feelings, and actions are interconnected, you can challenge unhelpful thoughts, replace them with more positive ones, and modify unhelpful behaviors to improve your emotional well-being and overall functioning.

  • Mindfulness-based External link

Mindfulness Therapy helps you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations in the present moment, without judgement, allowing you to respond to stress and discomfort with clarity and calm rather than reactivity. Mindfulness includes breathing exercises, body scans, and guided imagery. This method can be easily woven into other therapy modalities like CBT, EMDR, or CFT.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

DBT can help when your emotions feel out of control. Together, we will work to help you balance accepting yourself as you are while also making positive changes. I will give you concrete skills to practice for handling life's stressors and difficult moments more effectively.
