My Ideal Client

Life is hard but you don't have to do it alone! Do you find yourself struggling to keep yourself composed because you feel like your world is crashing down around you? Do you feel like you have become a burden to your family or friends because you keep talking about the same struggles that are on your mind and heart all the time? Are the things going on in your life getting in the way of you being your best self? If you could answer yes to any of these, I am here and ready to help!

My Background and Approach

I started my career working in the school system as a support to students in elementary school and went on to become a school counselor in a rural high school for the last 3 years. I have experience working with children and teens navigating the challenges of school and life outside of school. As much as I loved being a school counselor, I have transitioned into mental health counseling because I wanted to be able to help on a deeper level. I take time to really get to know my clients to help determine the best course of action to help. I use a variety of interventions ranging from CBT to Person Centered and also work with kids using art and play therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that change is possible with the right support, tools, and the determination to put in the hard work to make it happen. I believe that creating a strong connection with my clients is vital because healing and growth happens when you feel safe and heard. Suicide prevention/intervention have been a big part of my career. I have created prevention programs in schools and train staff on interventions. I became a counselor because I have had a few different counselors help me along my journey and I would not be where I am without them. I hope to be that for you! I have a passion for helping people and it is truly an honor to have people let me in their world and hear their stories.
