My Ideal Client

Many of my clients are people of color or from immigrant and bicultural backgrounds who feel the weight of expectations—at work, in family, and within themselves. They often struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, and the pressure to “hold it all together.” Some are navigating parenting challenges, cultural differences, or grief and loss. My clients want relief from overthinking, clarity about who they are, and a safe space where all parts of their identity are honored.

My Approach to Helping

As a Latina bilingual therapist in Portland, I offer therapy in English and Spanish with a warm, collaborative style. I create a space where your culture, values, and life experiences are honored. Together, we’ll explore how family patterns, cultural messages, and past experiences shaped the way you see yourself, while building practical tools to manage stress, emotions, and relationships. I support clients through anxiety, depression, grief, parenting stress, and life transitions. My approach blends relational, cultural, and evidence-based practices to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected. For immigrants and bicultural clients, therapy can also be a place to process the challenges of acculturation while affirming your strengths and identity. Healing is not about fixing you—it’s about creating space for growth, resilience, and lasting change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

With over 20 years of clinical experience in Argentina and the U.S., I’ve supported culturally diverse clients in community agencies, a state prison, a college counseling center, and private practice. As someone who has lived between cultures, I understand the power of being seen, heard, and respected. I believe therapy can help rewrite limiting stories shaped by culture and family, empowering clients to embrace their identity with confidence. I am especially passionate about serving the Latinx and Hispanic community as a Spanish-speaking counselor in Portland helping immigrants, expats, and BIPOC adults find clarity, balance, and confidence. I also offer bilingual Telehealth therapy across OR & WA, supporting clients through anxiety, acculturation stress, grief, and major life transitions. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so I offer a free 20-minute phone call to see if we’re a good fit. Please reach out by email, phone, or through my contact form at www.newmeaningscounseling.com
