My Ideal Client

I typically work with teens, adults, couples and families. I enjoy helping people work through identity development, ADHD, depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting support, and spiritual concerns.

My Approach to Helping

I believe people are influenced by their biological temperament, life experiences, past and present relationships with significant people, and their core values. My approach to therapy incorporates cognitive methods (examining one’s thoughts and beliefs). I view counseling as a collaborative effort in helping clients to recognize strengths, identify needs, understand conflicts, discover new options, set personal growth goals, and make informed choices.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because I wanted to have a job that contributed to making society a better place. I have spent my life trying to self-reflect and know myself. That work has brought so much clarity into the work that I do and helped be open to learning from the people I work with. I love what I do and humbled to get the opportunity to support people through challenges in their life or in their own mind. I don't take this work lightly and I love what I do.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • ADHD External link

My first job out graduate school was working for a practice that specialized in ADHD (NW ADHD). It was there that I was able to primarily focus on ADHD and understand the most effective approach to supporting someone work through their ADHD.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety management has become a favorite issue of mine to support people in. Anxiety can be a burden that is relentless and can manifest into confusing physiological symptoms like headaches, stomach aches and racing heart rate. It is an emotion we all deal with and we all need to understand. Through out my time working with anxiety I have focused my continued education to learn about anxiety management, both personally and professionally.
