My Ideal Client

I specialize in working with boys with behavioral, emotional, and/or school difficulties. My primary age of focus is 10-18 years old. I generally focus on skill building, and include strategies from solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as mindfulness and emotional regulation coping skills.

My Approach to Helping

My therapeutic approach is non-judgmental and collaborative. I utilize strengths-based and goal-oriented strategies to help children and teens to better manage behavioral and mental health difficulties, as well as work with parents and families to improve family dynamics. I enjoy helping children and teens develop the skills necessary to effectively manage their emotions, maintain positive relationships, and develop themselves in all areas of their lives.

Specialties

My clinical focus is working with children and adolescents. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health difficulties. I have worked in a residential treatment center for children and teens as well as in a shelter for at-risk youth. For the last several years, I have been a child and family therapist in a community mental health agency.

  • ADHD External link

A large portion of the children and adolescents whom I have been working with for the past 15 years have had an ADHD diagnosis. I have a well-rounded knowledge of how to treat this disorder with and without medication. I often times coordinate with primary care physicians, and school staff to help children and adolescents best manage their ADHD symptoms.
