My Approach to Helping
I draw from several evidence-based frameworks that help us look at your story from different angles:
Biopsychosocial model: We’ll explore how your mind, body, relationships, and life experiences all work together to shape your well-being.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Instead of fighting every difficult thought or feeling, we practice noticing them, making space for them, and choosing actions that move you toward what truly matters.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Together, we’ll look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Small shifts in thinking can open new ways of responding, helping you feel more steady, confident, and in control.
These frameworks give us structure, but the heart of therapy is our relationship: how we listen, learn, laugh, and grow together. If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or ready for something different, we’ll start right where you are. My aim is for our work together to be collaborative.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist and creative strategist, I've enjoyed over two decades of supporting individuals and organizations as they navigate change and rediscover what’s possible. Intrigued by who we are and how we grow, I began my career in Los Angeles, California, where I continue to hold a license. In 2009, ready to explore something new, I moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest and made Portland, Oregon, my home. Both places hold a special place in my heart.
I bring humor because laughter belongs in healing, candor because truth builds trust, and curiosity because understanding creates change. Whether sitting with a client or guiding a team, I listen deeply and challenge with care. Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals through grief, depression, anxiety, and major life transitions, and helped organizations strengthen culture, belonging, and purpose.
