My Approach

I work with adults on a broad selection of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, grief & loss, postpartum depression and adjustment issues, trauma, and stress management. My treatment approach is holistic, meaning I treat the whole person and view the mind-body connection as important to our overall well-being. As a PMHNP, I have been trained to understand how genetic, developmental, biological, environmental, and psychosocial influences can significantly impact our health. As a therapist, I utilize a combination of therapeutic theories and techniques to help meet your individual needs. I often incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, supportive, and interpersonal therapy techniques into our sessions. In addition to therapy, medication can be beneficial and we can discuss whether this option may be the best choice for you. I am also happy to coordinate care with other providers and work as part of a team to help you meet your mental health goals.

My Background

I received my Master's degree in Nursing after completing the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Oregon Health & Sciences University. I am board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and have been licensed and practicing since 2011. Prior to returning to graduate school, I worked as a Labor & Delivery RN caring for high-risk obstetric patients and their families. I have worked to unite my passion for women's health and mental health and have focused on the specialty of reproductive psychiatry since beginning my practice. I am passionate about supporting women and their families through the potential challenges experienced before, during, and after pregnancy and other reproductive life cycle changes.
