My Ideal Client

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, vulnerable, like letting a stranger in without cleaning the house. You may be wondering how you got here, why you put it off for so long, or if this time will be any different. It takes immense energy and courage to move towards change, which is why I aim to create a collaborative space where you can let go of shame, expectations, and masking; where you can feel seen, heard, and authentically accepted; a space for deep understanding, healing, and growth.

My Background and Approach

I have wide-ranging experience as a counselor from my time working in clinical and collegiate mental health settings while in grad school. My approach is grounded in Relational-Cultural Theory, exploring the impact of relationships and the influence of society, culture, power, and systemic inequities. I work with young adults and adults on a variety of topics and diagnoses, including: -Emotional regulation and understanding -Grief and loss -Religious trauma -Communication strategies and relational dynamics -ADHD, anxiety, and other mental health diagnoses I draw interventions from a mixture of other theories so we find the tools that most effectively integrate into your life. These include Acceptance and Commitment Theory, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Internal Family Systems Theory, and Dialectical Behavioral Theory. All this clinical jargon means is that when life throws curveballs, we can start working instead of starting over.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

Over the course of working together, we’ll find strategies that resonate with who you are and reflect your individuality. You are both the expert of your history and the author of your future; my role is to support and empower you as you write the next chapter. I'll bring in humor, emotional exploration, gentle challenging, and likely a few ADHD memory slips along the way. When I’m not working, I like to unwind by spending time with my 3-legged cat and velcro dog, listening to folk/indie/rock music, watching Dropout or british comedy/mystery shows, or recharging in nature. I look forward to connecting when you’re ready. Reach out to request a brief phone consultation or take the leap and schedule your first session!
