My Ideal Client

I welcome a wide variety of clients, though my specialty lies in adult ADHD and issues commonly associated with it, which might involve: guilt and shame, self-doubt, codependency, addiction, rejection sensitivity, avoidance, emotional dysregulation, people-pleasing, etc. I also enjoy working with those with PTSD and trauma presentations of all kinds.

My Approach to Helping

In working together, my goal is to create an environment in which you feel free and safe to explore your own psychological landscape- your fears, desires, dreams, beliefs, etc, and in so doing, develop a greater understanding of yourself. I can assist you in identifying any behavior patterns that no longer serve you and collaborate with you on strategies for change. I practice psychodynamic therapy, drawing from IFS, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, CBT, and mindfulness-based practices. I am supervised by Kathy Reicker, director of the Oregon Psychoanalytic Institute.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Psychodynamic  External link

Psychodynamic therapy aims to address the root causes of our behaviors and why we are the way we are. It involves curiosity, introspection, and recognizing patterns and themes in our lives. Simultaneously, there is attention paid to the here and now, and the client-therapist relationship itself. You will be given the space to talk about whatever is on your mind.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • ADHD External link

I have lived-in experience as a person with ADHD, and have extensive experience working with people with ADHD, in psychotherapy as well as higher education. I know what it's like first-hand to navigate life and its challenges with this brain type and am passionate about helping fellow ADHDers unlock their potential. Whether you choose to take medication for it or not, there is much we can dive into, in figuring out what works for you and how to achieve your goals.

  • Codependency External link

I have both personal and professional experience regarding codependency and recovery. We may know on an intellectual level that we should be prioritizing ourselves and setting boundaries, but still struggle to actually do those things. In addition to having tools and resources to share with you, I can help you address the root causes of your relationship patterns and experience the internal shifts necessary for lasting change.
