My Ideal Client

Are you feeling depressed, anxious, stressed? Have you experienced pain, trauma, abandonment, fear, rejection? These are all experiences with which I am familiar and which I can help you to work through. Are you a medical professional who's been overwhelmed by COVID? Or a first responder who is struggling with feeling overworked and under appreciated? I can help you as well. I work with a wide array of clients who are trying to make sense of their lives, their feelings, and their thoughts.

My Approach to Helping

In your therapy, I will work carefully to provide a calm, warm, safe space in which to explore your unique self, and what happiness, satisfaction, and fulfillment looks like for you. I will accompany you as you discover meaning and purpose in the face of difficult feelings, experiences, and thoughts. As therapy progresses, we will talk about everything that is important to you; therapy is about you and your life, not just the therapeutic “tricks and tips.” Your body and mind constitute an original and resilient Self, and we will base your therapy on its resources. The point of your therapy is to help you make your life better as you define it, and I will do my utmost to tailor my approach to your needs. As we work together, it is my deep hope that you come to feel that I understand, respect, and honor who you are and what you value. I work from a relational, client centered approach, informed by IFS, CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic perspectives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are all unique individuals, worthy of and deserving of respect, care, ease, and comfort. I believe that healing is not only possible, it is imperative. If you have had traumatic experiences, you deserve to heal. If you are overwhelmed, you deserve to have a place in which to rest and learn new coping skills. If you are confused, you deserve to have a place in which to find clarity. And if you simply want to know yourself better and learn to value and love the unique person that you are, you deserve a place in which you can discover your uniqueness and celebrate it. I am here to help you with any or all of the above; it is my privilege to work with you toward whatever goals you wish. Therapy is about you and your goals as you define them. I pledge to work with you on that journey.
