My Ideal Client

My specialty areas include managing anxiety, stress around work, family, dating, relationships, college and life transitions (including being new to Portland), improving self esteem and coping with infertility and childlessness.

My Approach to Helping

By using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a focus on mindfulness and your unique strengths, I can help you understand and change unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Through our work you'll develop a better awareness of who you are, what you want and how to get it. I'll help you discover and feel confident in yourself, and figure out how to live the life you want. Together we'll identify problem areas or places where you feel stuck and find new ways of responding that will afford you more enjoyable, fulfilling outcomes.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from the State University of NY at Stony Brook in 2003, and my master's degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice in 2005. I then completed three years of intensive clinical practice and study, earning my LCSW (licensed clinical social work) credential in 2011. I have extensive training in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Outside my private practice I’ve worked as a social worker and therapist in many settings in Portland, New York City and Philadelphia. I’m proud to have co-created two unique programs for students on the autism spectrum in New York City public schools. I served as director and supervisor of Green Chimney's Children's Services group home for LGBTQ youth in foster care. My career has led me to work as an educational consultant, college counselor and trainer for parents and educators.
